The Salzburg-based company HETTEC was awarded the "Samoter Innovation Award" in the "Attachments" category at the international trade fair Samoter in Verona . The award recognized the HETTEC ELASTO® Apex , a patented traction system for machines with rubber track undercarriages, specifically designed for extreme operating conditions.
The system combines high traction performance with quick and easy assembly and was developed for applications in forestry, earthmoving, alpine terrain, and other demanding environments. Practicality, safety, and efficiency under the most challenging conditions were the focus of its development.
The traction elements are mounted directly onto existing rubber tracks, without requiring any modifications to the undercarriage. In less than 20 minutes, a compact excavator designed for road and asphalt work can be transformed into a powerful all-terrain machine when needed.
“We are particularly proud of this award because it shows that practical innovations are also gaining international recognition. From the very beginning, our goal has been to develop solutions that sustainably improve the daily work of machine operators in extreme terrain,” says Rupert Hettegger , Managing Director of HETTEC.
The jury particularly praised the robust construction, versatile applications, and ease of use in daily operations. The system significantly improves traction, even under the most challenging terrain conditions.
Today, HETTEC products are used worldwide in forestry, heavy earthworks, alpine infrastructure construction, off-road applications and numerous special applications.
HETTEC exhibited at Samoter together with the RUD Group , which also received an innovation award.
“Our products are born directly from practical experience. Together with experienced machine operators and customers, we rigorously test our solutions under real-world operating conditions. In doing so, we deliberately question existing concepts and explore new avenues. This is how innovative products are created – solutions that truly prove their worth in daily use,” added Hettegger. He also thanked all partners, dealers, customers, and machine operators for their trust and successful collaboration.
HETTEC is a family-run company based in Salzburg, Austria, with an export quota of approximately 80 percent . Its products are developed for some of the world's harshest operating conditions. Real-world challenges lead to solutions with international benefits. Today, HETTEC products are used in more than 120 countries – from Austria and Japan to Antarctica.

With today's final day, HETTEC looks back on an extremely intensive and successful premiere at this year's bauma in Munich. For the first time, the Salzburg-based traction technology specialist presented its portfolio at the world's leading trade fair for the construction industry.
The past few days have been characterized by high-caliber technical discussions and a huge influx of visitors to the exhibition stand. Numerous international construction companies, dealers, and machine operators took the opportunity to learn about the systems for rubber-tracked vehicles through direct interaction and to see their performance for themselves.
“Our first bauma exceeded all expectations. The overwhelming interest in our traction solutions and the consistently positive feedback from practical experience show us that our developments are hitting the mark,” says Managing Director Rupert Hettegger, drawing a thoroughly positive conclusion at the end of the trade fair.
The ease of use, which allows standard construction machinery to be adapted for challenging terrain in no time, was a particular focus for trade visitors. The contacts and partnerships established lay a strong foundation for future projects on an international level.
As we bid farewell to Munich, the entire HETTEC team would like to sincerely thank all visitors, customers and partners for the valuable exchange during this eventful trade fair week.
